Quhow mony kyndis of faburdoun ar nemmit? Four. Quhow sall the first kynd of faburdoun be knawin? Be rewills and exemplis.

The first rewill is: that ye plane sang nots of all mensurs ma be uprasit fro ye propir seit and modulat in diapason ascendent. Bot this rewill is nocht ay observit [for this caus:] Quhan the plane sang is sett in C fa ut, D sol re, E la mi, F fa ut, C sol re ut in the scherp and in A la mi re, B fa b mi, C sol fa ut et cetera abown ye scherp than the noitts sall nocht be transportid in diapason ascendent bot thay sall be in the propir settis modulat.
